Languages

The banner ships with translations in 50+ languages. You set one default language and, on plans that allow it, add more. The banner shows in the visitor's browser language when it matches one you added, and falls back to the default otherwise.

Set languages

  1. Open Banner Settings in the dashboard at my.optsens.com.
  2. Open the Languages section.
  3. Choose a Default language.
  4. Under Additional languages, pick the other languages you serve.
  5. Click Save Changes.

A counter next to Additional languages shows how many you have added against your plan's limit. To remove a language, click the X on its chip.

How the visitor's language is chosen

The banner picks a language in this order:

  1. The visitor's browser language, if it matches one you added. Regional variants match their base language: a de-AT browser matches de.
  2. Your default language.

All banner text, button labels, and category names show in the chosen language.

Plan gating

The number of languages you can run is limited by plan. On plans capped at one language, the Additional languages picker is locked and the banner runs in your default language only.

IAB partner text

In IAB TCF mode, the purpose and feature descriptions in the preference center are IAB's official translations, displayed as published. The TCF policies do not allow editing this text, and partner names are never translated. It follows the banner language where IAB provides that language, separately from the banner strings above.
